About Us

The Piner-Fiskburg Fire Protection District is a combination volunteer/paid department serving the southern area of Kenton County. Our headquarters is located at the eastern end of Bracht-Piner Rd. Here we house two firetrucks, a water tanker, a brush truck and our ambulance. We cover an area of 23 square miles and also provide assistance to neighboring departments when needed. We currently have 20 volunteers, 3 full time personnel and 16 paid part time personnel as well as a full time Chief. We average approximately 225 runs per year with the majority of those being EMS calls. On Wednesday evenings we conduct fire and EMS training for our volunteers so that everyone maintains a high level of proficiency for any task we may be called upon to do. It is an honor and a privilege to serve such a wonderful community.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Piner-Fiskburg Fire Protection District is to provide our community with the highest quality of protection against man-made and natural disasters.

This shall first be accomplished with a strong relationship between the department, the community, and local government.  An effective fire prevention program will enable us to educate the citizens on how to prevent and then deal with emergency situations.  This interactive program, combined with financial support from local government and community-based fund-raisers will allow us to deal with these occurrences.

The officers and firefighters of the Piner-Fiskburg Fire Protection District shall stay current with the new changes in education, information, procedures, and technologies that will enable us to handle emergency situations most effectively.  Our extensive training program assures that firefighters are prepared for situations that may arise.

The department shall also retain a good working relationship with the fire departments of neighboring communities.  This allows reciprocating assistance in the form of equipment resources and mutual aid coverage in times of need.

It is our promise that we will serve our community with honor, and the highest level of professionalism possible at all times.  It is the department’s job to provide the best fire education, fire protection and emergency services, for the towns of Piner and Fiskburg.
